Oegon – Day 3

We had a short ride yesterday so took the dogs down to the beach. Didn’t have Smokis halter so she took me for a run then fall in the sand. So excited to be able to run. Today we relaxed in the morning then drove up the coast to the Tillamook cheese factory. Was interesting to watch the assembly line in action. Machines are now doing the stirring where we watched men with long paddles do the stirring 40 years ago!! Bought cheese and headed for a lighthouse then down to another beach. Got gas and back to the campground for some wine and cheese. Supposed to rain some tomorrow so will relax and get ready for the next section of our vacation.

Oregon – Day 2

e made it to the Oregon Coast today. Short trip. The trip we have accomplished already was wonderful, but I love the coast. I grew up as a beach bum on Long Island, swimming, sun bathing and trying to surf (unsuccessfully). The Oregon Coast is different. People go to the coast to watch storms!!! They are magnificent. We always joked about the people lying on blankets on the beach that they came to rust because of the overcast sky. Hope all are well!!!

Montana – Day 2

Driving across Montana today on 2. We’re told that this road is the most scenic in Montana. Well not this leg of the road. Almost as bad as driving along side corn fields for hours and hours. Pretty desolate, but we did see prong horn antelope and two road runners crossing the road right in front of the truck. Ed honked and they did an about face before we could hit them!!! Don’t know why the coyote had so much trouble catching them!!!!!
Our campsite is wonderful!! Lots of trees and almost empty, but it is early.

Montana – Day 1

We are in Montana snd have spent three wonderful days in a rinky-dink campground. Very secluded and not busy. Yesterday we drove back to ND to Theodore Roosevelt Park. Drove through the beautiful country full of buttes and wildlife. Saw about 4 herds of Buffalo, two of which were crossing the road in front of the truck. Saw two herds of wild horses and a coal vein that was on fire.

Today we did laundry (were down to two undies) and cleaned the camper snd truck snd mostly relaxed. Took a nap in the sun had bacon and pancakes fir breakfast, BLTs for lunch and awaiting hamburgers with the last of our tomatoes from the garden. Two days fro Glacier Nation Park on MT2 instead of 95. Hope all are well!!! (Health scare fir Ed last night when he drank RC that smells like petroleum and taste bad. I didn’t drink but the smell was horrendous)

West Coast – North Dakota

We made it to North Dakota yesterday snd are spending two nights here. We don’t want to just drive and stay overnight all the time. We really lucked out. The site is small but nice but right behind the trees by our site is a Hugh field with a walking path all the way around. We can let all three run!! Snd boy can Smoki run! She leaves the others behind when she can stretch her legs.

Ed needed some meds so we went to Jamestown, the home of the largest Buffalo and a frontier town. Fun thing to do and see.
